The Distance Within
CGI
2026
We do not cease to be selfish by denying our selfishness, nor do we cease to be violent by pretending that we are not. The contradiction between what we are and what we admit to being persists even when we evade it.
Awareness without selection brings its own illumination. Perceiving that clarity is like touching the tail of a comet.
The distance that separates us from ourselves enters into our contemplation of the distance that separates us from the stars. This inner distance obscures our perception of the world and conditions the meaning of our relationship with it.
